Don't bite the hand.

I can’t remember when in the dim and distant past I heard this or where it came from, but the phrase is “don’t bite the hand that feeds you”.  A few days ago I had reason to remember it, we don’t often get abuse at the food bank (it’s usually because people don’t get their own way) but the other day a client not only abused the taxi driver, who then refused to take her. (a taxi that was provided free of charge) but then went on to abuse the foodbank staff because we would not order another taxi and then our driver because we could not deliver the parcels. I guess the moral of the phrase is, if you bite the hand that feeds you it might stop feeding you. I’ll leave you to decide what our response was.
